Every since I started performing my work in 2001, I have always wanted to use this platform to be able to give back to the community.

This gift is not my own but for me to share with the world “Speaking Life” through my poetry. One of my many dreams was to put on an All Woman Poetry Showcase that will give a woman's perspective on the issues of life...poetically, so in 2007, I created my first all woman poetry showcase called, "R U Skooled? From a Woman's Perspective Poetically." Every March, I have showcased this spoken word poetry event in Greenville, SC and one day it will be hosted in other cities as it continues to grow. The night is filled with some of the most amazing, thought-provoking and inspiring female poets from all over the globe!

Before the night comes to an end, my non-profit of choice is presented with a check of all donations received prior to and at the end of that night!
